Although it is not quite the time to get your summer body ready, it is always a good idea to stay healthy and fit. This can sometimes be a very difficult task for us since we are living in a world filled with delicious food and treats, but eating healthy leads to a long, happy life.
Many have heard and rolled their eyes when their mothers tell them to "eat healthy now before your metabolism kicks in, and it's too late," but this humorous statement is actually really good advice for young ladies approaching adulthood. According to researchers, a woman's metabolism begins slowing down as early as 25. That means that if someone has gone her entire life eating greasy burgers and fries, it will be a struggle for her to start eating healthy by her mid 20's. Now, this does not mean that you should go your whole life eating only salads every day. It all depends on the way you balance your eating habits. Eating a healthy breakfast and lunch and drinking lots of water allows for your body to break nutrients down faster, which means fried chicken for dinner would not be the end of the world!
The first thing you need to know about eating healthy is being able to understand your body's intake. Everyone is different, but there are some general rules when eating healthy or dieting. Staying hydrated is key. You should normally drink eight to nine glasses of water a day. Another good tip is avoiding carbs. Although we all love breads and pasta, these foods could be some of our worst nightmares as these foods can make you feel sluggish. An alternative would be switching to wheat or cutting down on quantity. Staying away from sugary food and drinks also impacts ones' body tremendously. Most people who cut soft drinks out of their diet notice an immediate change in their bodies.
Using a few of these tips can help quite a bit in the long run. Just by cutting down on certain foods and drinking more water, you will not only begin to look better, but you will start to feel better, too, which can lead to greater productivity in your school work and personal life as well.
