It's time to break a leg, Crescents! On November 17, 18, and 19, 2016, Cabrini held their annual fall play in the gym. Entitled Anne of Green Gables, this production was unlike any other. Moderated by Mrs. Evison, Anne of Green Gables was a huge success thanks to Cabrini's drama club.

The play is composed of 14 different and unique characters. However, the incredible team was able to pull off all of these characters with only 12 cast members. The fabulous cast was made up of Pre-Freshmen Rebecca Brayden, Mia Cuttito, Freshmen Gabi Taylor, Sophomores Mallory Bruno, Sydney Ford, Lauren Lyons, Kaitlyn Lumanais, Juniors Sarah Bise, Bailey Chauvin, Sabrina Costales, Amanda Sisung, and Maiya Tate. However, the team does not just stop onstage. The backstage and front of the house team members include Pre-Freshmen Calley Chauvin, Freshmen Colleen Gaffney, Bréanna Guient, Sophomores Brennah Goutierrez, Laurel Mixon, Alieha Pacaccio, Juniors Rebekah Alvarenga, Abigail Huff, Mandy Soyez, Seniors Brittney Juneau, Abigail Braud, and Lily Glennon.

Anne of Green Gables is about a young orphan named Anne Shirley (Amanda Sisung) who is adopted by siblings Marilla (Gabi Taylor) and Matthew Cuthbert (Sarah Bise). Ms. and Mr. Cuthbert originally wanted a boy, but Florence Remsen (Lauren Lyons) and Minnie Stearn (Sabrina Costales), the heads of the orphanage, accidentally send Anne with Mrs. Alexander Spencer (Rebecca Brayden) to live in Green Gables instead. Anne is a girl of imagination and spends much of her time hoping for Mrs. Cuthbert's approval. The play focuses on Anne's interactions with characters such as her close "bosom friend," Diana Barry (Kaitlyn Luminais), the school tattletale Josie Pye (Maiya Tate), and her enemy whom she refuses to name, Gilbert Blythe (Mia Cutitto). Anne keeps her imagination alive throughout the play, which gets her into trouble at times with Mrs. Barry (Mallory Bruno), Diana's concerned mother, Mrs. Allan (Sydney Ford), who Anne accidentally poisons, Rachel Lynde (Bailey Chauvin), who she originally calls a "gimlet eye," but ultimately befriends. Throughout the play, Anne struggles with trying to impress her new family and making friends in school. Through all these exciting and surprising moments, Anne keeps her imaginative spirit to help her through her days at Green Gables.

The Cabrini Drama Club worked extremely hard for several months to make Anne of Green Gables come to life. "I thought the play was a great success. We worked extremely hard and had such a great time working on it. I'm very proud of the cast and crew for their participation and hard work," stated Bailey Chauvin. The cast did a fantastic job and their hard work truly did pay off in the end. All three nights were successful and made for a memorable show like no other.
